LEAD HAZARD CONTROL

The Lead Poisoning Prevention and Abatement Program focuses on residents within the City of Kankakee built before 1978 that may contain lead based paint. The program affords property owners the opportunity to have their properties inspected for possible lead hazards. If a lead hazard is identified on the property, it is then mitigated. Many times the windows are the focus of the program due to the rapid deterioration of paint around these areas. HUD income eligibility guidelines must be met. This program currently open for applicants. Please submit our Pre-Application Form.
